Painting reflection

My bad for the long hiatus. By now I've progressed beyond still life in my paintings, nevertheless, here are my back-dated posts on my past lessons so you could see my progress.

My fourth lesson was a tad tougher, since it involved painting a variety of colours. Instead of simply using the tube of brown paint in my basic paint set, I learnt that brown could similarly be achieved by mixing cadmium red, lemon yellow and white, in varying amounts, to achieve varying tones. This was useful in creating the 'reflection effect' on the tin box that I was trying to paint.
